None with swift feet.

"Good show tonight," said Clark. Lex slanted one of those mysterious looks at him, his glance dragging over his skin, heavy and pregnant with meaning. Clark felt himself flush.

Lex nodded, as if Clark had answered a question he hadn't asked.

"I know," he said. He went on undressing. Clark didn't look away, even when he took off the tights.

"You look so different," said Clark when Lex was dressed again. "In normal clothes."

Not more normal, though, thought Clark. Lex inhabited the extraordinary. It showed best when he was dancing, but Lex was amazing no matter what he wore or what he was doing.

"Did you ever -- have you ever thought of doing anything else?" Clark asked on impulse.

"Like what, Clark?" said Lex. Clark squirmed, knowing he didn't have to say, like follow in your father's footsteps. He felt so transparent around Lex. "Dancing isn't just a job for me. It's a lifestyle."

"So's everything else," Clark muttered, and Lex laughed, as if Clark had surprised him, but not unpleasantly. Clark grinned reluctantly, relishing the sense of triumph.

"Good point," said Lex. Suddenly he was right there, so close Clark could feel the warmth of his body, and he touched Clark's face.

"I'm a creature of extremes, Clark," he said gently, like a warning. "I'm not sure I know how to hold back."

"I don't want you to," said Clark, and he leaned forward and Lex, who never missed a cue, Lex was right there.
