* * * Sunlight
* * * Zirah's eyes were unnaturally bright as he stared unblinking into the sun. Come to think of it, Zirah's eyes were always unnaturally bright. They stood waiting to observe the last breath leave the man on the cross. Caphriel didn't ask whether Zirah found this death too painful to watch or simply thought the sun more interesting. But even knowing what was to come, Caphriel couldn't bear to see the death of the Son of God and letting the sun's rays scour his eyes felt too much like a benediction. Instead, as always, he watched the light shine in Zirah's eyes.
